EPMV vs. RPM
Two ways to measure ad earnings. EPMV ties revenue to real visitors; RPM ties it to pageviews.
EPMV — earnings per 1,000 visitors
Total ad revenue divided by sessions, times 1,000. Because it counts visitors instead of impressions, EPMV reflects the true value of a visit and can't be inflated by stacking more ads on a page.
RPM — revenue per 1,000 pageviews
Total ad revenue divided by pageviews, times 1,000. Useful for comparing placements and pages, but it moves with pageviews-per-visit, so it tells you less about real visitor value than EPMV.
