Enhanced AI Placeholders Are Here: Learn How to Start

Enhanced AI Placeholders are coming to Ezoic customers in November 2021.

You may have noticed that Ezoic already has AI Placeholders; using Ezoic’s AI placeholders is as easy as toggling a switch on in the Monetization tab of your dashboard. Turning on AI Placeholders allows Ezoic’s technology to locate additional placeholder locations outside of what the publisher has put on the site. However, AI Placeholders have been limited to mobile until now, as mobile is just a single column and less complicated.

Enhanced AI Placeholders will allow our current AI Placeholder technology to expand to desktop and tablet, in addition to fixing some bugs on the mobile version. AI Placeholders for tablet and desktop will work the same as they do on mobile; however, the technology can now identify all parts of a website, including the header, footer, sidebar, and content. The technology considers these elements, including length of content and word count, and then inserts placeholders accordingly. Just like with regular placeholders, Ezoic’s AI figures out over time which places perform the best and continually improves your site.

AI Placeholders will make you more money and improve UX because Ezoic’s technology has even more data to work with and tests to try. A publisher may have overlooked certain placeholder locations or thought a particular spot would be bad for user experience; AI Placeholders finds those areas and run tests on them. A placeholder that a publisher thought would be bad for UX may be very high-earning and only affect user experience slightly. Now, Enhanced AI Placeholders will be able to do this on any device.

Below, we can observe a website that turned on AI Placeholders on February 4, 2021, after previously turning them off on August 21, 2018.

Comparing the previous month to four months after implementing AI Placeholders, the site’s revenue increased by 61%.

To sign up for Enhanced AI Placeholders for your site, navigate to your Ezoic dashboard and go to your Levels dashboard. At the top, there will be a message at the top to get in line for Enhanced AI Placeholders. Early access is closed but those who sign up now will have first priority on the official launch date.
